Obviously sell all corrupted armor as it's impure and make sure you keep an eye on the campaign map so you know how many days left you have to complete certain missions- don't do an optional mission with 5 days left to complete if you have 2 missions in two planets each with 2 days left to complete- you could find your squad has become corrupted/liberal in an instant. Play through the purity side of Chaos rising and use davion thule as much as you can since he won't get corrupted, you can upg his health, melee or firepower all are equally good (his charge is a little clunky with melee, I upgraded his melee and later wished I had gone firepower, but maybe it was the right choice) you DEFINITELY want enough points to get his ancient dreadnaught ability which lets him heal over time- you can't really heal him otherwise unless you spend a slot on a repair trinket, and the only other thing you'd need to repair is turrets, which you don't use too often. IE if you have a level 4 and a level 9 sniper rifle, immediately sell the old one. Always sell old gear as soon as possible since it's often enough to level up one or more squads.
Something else important to note is if your inventory gets full of old crap, you'll stop getting new items and just get one generic item as a notification instead, it won't say anything like "INVENTORY FULL, SELL ITEMS" so you need to keep that in mind. I named my force commander Sean Spicer because he serves the God Emperor. Your force commander can get terminator armor too and the optimal weapon for him is lightning claws so he looks like wolverine. When tarkus gets to a certain health (alternate firepower and health) level all 4 of his team can turn into terminators letting you unlock all kinds of badass extra weapons. You have to play somewhat more conservatively with your heal and Tarkus grenades because of this. In CR they split up your supplies into medical supplies, bomb supplies, ammo supplies etc. Melta bombs are cute but if you're close enough to use a melta bomb on a vehicle it's close enough to shoot you back.Īn important difference between the 2 campaigns: in DOW2 you get more supplies for all kinds of bombs, grenades and healing packs with every single crate you smash, so you should never run out of anything. When avitus can get a rocket launcher, get one and prioritize it on him, and it will be pretty much the only anti vehicle you'll ever need as you'll be able to pick off vehicles at a distance. There's some sort of medpack ability that is green and lets you heal everybody in a large radius for a large amount and completely revive any squad leaders- you never want to go w/o this ability, get it as soon as possible and use it as often as possible, you should be tabbing over to it each time it's up. There are ways to get around this like jumping in and then using your invulnerability trinket, but you're going to be tabbing around a LOT during big fights so I find it best to keep the actions you're going to be doing pretty systematic and organized. Any time he's flying around in the air he should be attacking (IE when he's at close range) and any time he's far away enough to close the gap w/ his jump you'd probably be jumping right into a huge squad of enemies who will shut you down pretty quickly. Other than that, stealth is more of a gimmick than anything since you're playing against computers, and by the time you could "infiltrate" or "sabotage" any area, you probably could have just steamrolled it with your squads.īe careful using the assault marine squad, or just don't use him at all and keep him in the kids pen with cyrus (my choice). Cyrus is near useless and you really only need him for one "stealth" mission in chaos rising where you cant kill allies and thus need stealth. Focus on the melee upg points for your force commander and the assault marine squad, focus on offense for avitus and tarkus. His taunt ability should be used liberally and then you can retreat him and the enemies will still be raging after him for a few seconds. Hi, the advice everyone is giving seems to be "just do whatever you want and have fun" but I think you want a little more guidance so I'll tell you what worked for me.Īlternate Tarkus' dmge and health levelups and a good gun, you'll want him most every round because his squad has four members.
